Why is my phone dialing the same number every night?

Why is my phone dialing the same number every night?

I just noticed in my call log that the same number is phone every night at the same time (about 4:20am). Is this just some kind of check performed every night with the server or something?

Nope, that's definitely not us. Is it a Canadian number calling? If so, any luck with calling it back and seeing who it is?

Are you using an ATA connected to your home wiring? Could it be an alarm system doing a nightly self check, Bell/Star Choice sat receiver phoning in movie purchases? Any other type of auto dial device in your house?
Of course if you use the softphone, all of those suggestions go out the window!

Try googling the number. You might find out what it is this way.

Maybe your right...we have Kitchener Direct Detect (hooked up directly to the fire department)...its probably that. I think they mentioned it dials a number every night.
