does not work now on my windows 7 laptop. No software popup!

Post by flyingking »

it worked on my other laptop. But frephoneline does not work. I mean, when i click the software, it does not pop up the softphone. I cannot find the softphone! I already uninstalled any freephoneline from control panel and reinstall it after downloading your latest version from your site. But it still does not work. I click the icon, it will pop up Hosts popup but after clicking OK, I never see freephoneline softphone (in other computer, i will see). Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling Java, and then the softphone? I'm wondering if something is up with your Java installation.

Perhaps you can ask your developers to put in a notice on the uninstaller screen that if you're troubleshooting and going to reinstall, that you should reinstall java too. I see this question all the time (and answered before I get to it) that maybe it warrants a notification popup before the uninstall process occurs that lets people know that java should be uninstalled/reinstalled too if you're troubleshooting a problem.

Just to confirm that it is *not* a 64 bit problem, before buying my config file I used the softphone on a Core 2 Duo 64 bit Win 7 Home and it worked fine.

I use the Softphone sometimes in my Windows 7 ultimate X64 and as you said can not be the OS, please follow my recommendations down bellow:

1-Remove the Softphone + Java and download CCleaner then install it in other for you to delete any information in the Window's registry (sometimes when we remove programs their values are saved in the computer without us knowing it)

2-Make sure if you are using a firewall (Norton, Zone alarm, Windows 7) the Softphone should be listed there as "allowed"

Tip: Take a look in the windows task manager (press Crtl + Alt + Delete) then go to "processes" and check how much memory the Softphone is consuming.

Please try that and let us know :D

the first thing i tried is go to windows task manager. It only shows freephoneline process running, but I never have the softphone popup in this win 7 laptop

I cannot get softphone to work on my windows 7 laptop. I have followed the suggestions in this thread and I also have used the compatibility options for windows xp sp3.
Still not working. The app allows me to enter my dialing number but it never connects. When I click on voicemail code *98 comes in and it shows a running connection timer.

Has the windows 7 installation/run issue been resolved?

Are you behind a router and did you properly forward the ports to the target computer?
