Mac Restart Computer (Kernel Panic) msg when opening FPL.app

Post by derekt »

I could not run the FreePhoneLine.app program upon first download, and upon further use on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.5.8.
Tried removing it, re-downloading it, and installing. This was with the OS firewall set to accept all incoming connections, both with and without anitvirus, and with two different AV software, iAntivirus, and Sophos.

Many kernel panics later, I accidently discovered I can run the app, immediately after the restart following a repair permissions, and rebuild of launch services via Onyx( which I always do after adding any program). But it only works during the session immediately following this restart, opening FPL.app after subsequent reboots reproduces the kernel panic again, until Onyx is run again.

When it is working, outgoing and incoming calls work great, call quality is great, and runs fine with anti-virus installed, even with Sophos AV Home Edition on-access scanner activated.

May be just my set-up and settings at fault, not a problem with the software, but has anyone else encountered this, and offer any suggestions on how to solve this issue?
