Okay so after a couple of months using freephoneline....there are a few issues:
First, just recently, calls have been cut off at exactly the one minute mark...not always but very frequently. I'm starting to think that if you don't pay for a subscription, they're running a script to cut me off at one minute...
The second issue is regarding the software. When I click on disconnect, the software doesn't react. The only way for me to end the call is by closing the program.
It's great that there is a free phone service available but 1 minute calls are at times inconvenient...
couple of things...

Re: couple of things...
I can assure you this is not the case, firstly, there is no subscription to pay for - It is free. We operate mainly off one-time costs, DSL and such monthly services are of course optional. Secondly, these disconnects are almost always linked to network fluctuations on the customers end. Not to blame you guys at all; however, as quite a few of you know there are easy ways to set up a network, and than there is the right way. Usually we need to know the following to efficiently troubleshoot your issue(s):vandelay wrote:First, just recently, calls have been cut off at exactly the one minute mark...not always but very frequently. How many computers on that network?:
How much bandwidth do have compared to what you download?:
Have you tried uninstalling our software phone, and uninstalling Java, than re-installing both?, you may want to try and use the Java installer that comes with the software phone as opposed to downloading a new installer from java.com.The second issue is regarding the software. When I click on disconnect, the software doesn't react. The only way for me to end the call is by closing the program.

Re: couple of things...
Thanks for the response.
Thing is, it was working great since the original configuration and as far as I know, nothing has changed since then. I hadn't thought of the java updates though so that's something I'll definitely look into. My ISP is techsavvy...bandwidth is 200 GB per month and according to my payment receipts, I've never come close to the cap. The only other thing I can think of is my firewall. Is it possible that it would cut the connection off at 1 minute? Again, I didn't change anything there since it was originally setup so I can't see why it would start doing it. The weird thing is that when it cuts out, it's always at exactly 1 minute....
Anyway, I'll check into the java and see if that helps.
Thanks

Is it easy to disable or remove the firewall from your connection? Would definitely be worth a shot for troubleshooting purposes - sometimes the thing you least suspect can be the culpritvandelay wrote:The only other thing I can think of is my firewall.
