I'd be interested in hearing these 'monkeys' as well. BrightHouse Networks seems to be a CLEC serving the sunshine states along with Detroit, and Michigan... It is beyond me as to why they'd be having monkeys calling you...

Still receiving recorded messages from Bright-house Network. Press 0 if Technicians is arrived or press 1 if he has finished the work.
The worst part is I can not disable that number because it shows only 11 or 18.

Any luck with contacting Brighthouse Network at all? They've got some email/phone support options on their site. Maybe you can dig your way up to a supervisor or manager who can shed some light on why they keep calling you.

Have you tried pressing 1? That might clear the job down their side and make the calls stop.

On this note, perhaps an admin can confirm, but there are scammers out there that cold call and say that you've won a trip, or your credit card is about to expire or something of the nature of scaring you, and tell you to press 1,9, whatever to speak to a person. On Bell's network, when you press the number they ask, it somehow connects you to a foreign country where the number is now charging you somehow through bell - and you end up paying big money for the phone call.

Can this happen through FPL? What would happen if a call like that came in and we pressed the number. would it just say we don't have enough funds and be done with it?

As far as regular phone lines go, this is a myth.

On your freephoneline, once in a call, pressing anything won't trigger any function. You'll just relay those sounds to the person calling you, which will only be annoying to them.

This myth has been circulating for decades.

However, there exist a few particular phone numbers that, when called, will incur ridiculously high charges. There's nothing phone companies can do about it as it falls in the jurisdiction of other countries, but you know you're calling there because of the numbers you're dialing (either +1 or +011, for instance), so you know it'll cost something.

no response to e-mail. Tomorrow I will call their Florida main number and see what it is.

But its not only that. I have been getting numerous calls since last 10 days. Half of them are internationals.
So I am confused what the heck happened in last 10 days. Its been working fine for more than a year.
Except the regular faxes from some Windows installation company.
