Hello,
Been using FPL for just under a year and loving it!. I have added vouchers to my account to make international calls from my SIP adapter at home. I would love to be able to use you guys as my LD provider for my cellphone while on the road. I am aware of the Bud phone app but my Wm6.5 phone isn't supported. Is there a local access number(s) i can use to dial from my cell to make international calls using my FPL credits?
TIA!

Hi there,
Unfortunately we don't have a system in place yet for mobile phones which aren't supported with the application. Hopefully in the near future we will have something setup to accommodate non-iphone/Blackberry/Android mobile devices. You might wish to check into worldline.ca, another service of ours, in the meantime.

Thanks for the reply...
Took a look at Worldline. It doesn't seem to fit my need. Was looking for per minute billing (not unlimited minutes for a monthly fee) to international countries. The only per minute plan i found via World line is http://www.1011295.com. But i doubt the 10xxxxx numbers work on cellphones.

mikron15, unfortunately most 10-11 / 10-10 dial around numbers like this only work from land lines - The example you gave, 1011295, only works from land lines from Bell Canada.

Perhaps there coudl be an access number set up where you can enter your phone number + PIN and access your account/credit/vouchers just like a calling card. Just an idea!

I will gladly drop my LD for my cell and use FPL.

Depending on how much you use it you could do something like I have done.mikron15 wrote:^+10

I have set up a freeswitch PBX at home, when I call in with my cell it knows it is me and connects me though to my DISA script that allows me to call out via one of my FPL numbers. What this essentially does is place a call as though I am at home using a phone there, except I am using my cell to make that call. Because the number is my free calling number on the cell plan, I get these calls free. Obviously if the call is not covered by the free areas, then the charge would be placed against the voucher as in your case.
My point being, it is possible to do what you want, it just takes a little setting up.

Re: International calls via cellphone
Hi Jake, I have asked you (in another thread) about your freeswitch PBX that you have setup FPL to allow calls from/to your Cellphone with 1 number unlimited and you explained how this works. I would love to set this up too, but unfortunately my voip/dialplan knowledge is very basic. If you are able to provide more technical details (dialplans, which files need to be updated in freeswitch ) I would be very grateful.
