No voice on calls (including incoming)

Post by soso »

I get no voice on incoming calls when I pick though the person can drop a message on the voice mail. I have opened the ports required on my computer firewall even disabled the whole thing with no positive result. What next?

Opening the ports on the firewall of your computer is one thing, but you also have to tell your modem/router to forward the internet traffic that calls these ports. Depending on your type of router, it may be called "Port fowarding" or "Special applications". Check with your modem/router documentation on how to do it.

The ports that need to be forwarded to your computer are 5060, 50601, 6060, 6061, 13000, 13001.

Not to mention, they must be either UDP or Both (UDP+TCP) as voip runs via UDP

Good point, I forgot to mention that. It's extremely important, as by default, a lot of routers will only forward TCP, which does nothing for VoIP...
