Re: making calls
I have the ATA router before the home router so the port forwarding is not the problem. I believe it is something on freephoneline end

Re: making calls
It sounds like the port is blocked, preventing some of the data to go through. What is your ISP, and what kind of internet connection do you use?

Re: making calls
I suspect now it is my Ip provider. I use Xplornet wireless broadband. I also use freephoneline line on my iPhone and it works when connected to some wifi but not so good on 3G network. I have been experimenting over the last couple of days. Voyage will not work either with my home Internet.

Re: making calls
I really hate that company. The are the worst ISP I have ever had the mis-pleasure of dealing with, and between the UK, Spain, and Canada I have had a few. They tell you that you are going to get a certain rate, but that rate is only bust and they clamp it right down after 30 seconds. They will keep telling you it is because you have a bad line of sight to the receiver, or you are too far away; even though you explain to them you are just across the field from the aerial and you could almost throw a stone and hit it. The speedtest.net tomfoolery they try to make you jump through is rubbish also because those tests don't last long enough before they clamp your speed.davec2861 wrote:I suspect now it is my Ip provider. The techs will deny everything about doing anything to your connection, and will even blame it on your phones. It is only until you insist that you get escalated to the highest person you can will you then get a half honest answer. The only thing their connections are useful for is general surfing and checking emails, as long as you don't have any attachments to download in a hurry.
I have never been so happy to get a call from Bell telling me that ADSL was now available to me and I could ditch that load of crap. I feel sorry for the people that are stuck and have no option but to use them. Sorry if that is you, and I would fully expect that they are doing something to stop the voip calls. Your only hope is a call to their support and try an get something sorted.
Sorry about the rant, but they make my blood boil from the lies I was told from them.

Re: making ca
Thanks Jake
I have spoke with them a few times but the deny that the problem lies with them.
I have also heard they block ports also but do not know that for sure. I know they slow down the internet after downloading. I have tried a static ip and 3meg service but it made no difference. I really have no other options now except for the rocket hub but they are expensive when you use lots of bandwidth. As soon as something else comes along I will switch for sure.
