I would like to have my ring time set for longer than 30s. I tried looking up if this was possible, and from what I could find on the forums was that it is not. I couldn't find why not, so I was just wondering why not, and if you'll ever be able to set it longer than 30s.

The basic answer is so FPL can help stay free a little bit.ArSiTiO wrote:I would like to have my ring time set for longer than 30s. When a call comes in, if the call is not terminated (answered) FPL does not make anything from termination fees from the telephone company (e.g. Bell) that is calling your FPL number. If the answer machine picks up, then the call is terminated and FPL makes a, very, little bit of money helping to keep the company going.
30 seconds is a time that is long enough, but not too long.
