Unable to foward to 604

I've set up a Toronto number and want to try forwarding the calls to my Vancouver cell phone. However, whenever anyone calls the Toronto number it seems to go straight to voicemail. Any help would be much appreciated.

I am trying to forward my number to my Rogers cell phone with area code 250.
The call never goes through, when I call it, it just goes straight to voice mail.

Unfortunately, the calling area 1250 of British Columbia is not covered by our free calling area, therefore all attempts to forward to it would have your results of going straight to voice mail or giving the audible error 'Your account has insufficient funds to complete the current call".

Wow. I spent hours trying to get this to work and searching your site for help and found nothing about this. I appreciate this is a free service but somewhere it really should be posted what area codes don't work. At the very least your followme form should be checking the first 4 digits of an area code and throw a pop up if the number is not accepted. It is not hard to implement such code.

When Freephoneline publishes that list, it will already be out of date. I understand your annoyance, but the on-net local calling area changes so often, it would be hard to keep up. And there are times the Freephoneline staff only find out when something that is supposed to be in the area and is not is when someone here lets them know.

I had my friend with a 506 area code try for me and it didn't work either. So does that area code not work as well?

Correct, currently New Brunswick is not in our free calling area either.

You'd have to be more specific than just 905 since that's such a broad area. Is there a city in particular?

There are many cities in the 905 area code. Some work and some don't. When asking for an on-net location include area code (1st three digits also called NPA) and the next three (NXX). For example 905-206-XXXX.

A trick I have if I want to know if a city is included in the free area list is, after business hours I go here: http://www.canada411.ca/ and find a business number in that city and call it. If I get the FPL message "The tarrif plan.." then I know it's not free otherwise it is free. Just make sure doing it after business hours so you don't disturb no one.
