no voice on softphone

Post by gmvatui »

Hi ,
I'm new to freephoneline. I just downloaded the softphone app. a week ago and had it working fine for a couple of days.

However, the voice stopped working a few days ago.
i.e. I can call people, they can call me, but nobody hears anybody.

I forwarded the ports mentioned in the FAQ page (13000, 13001, 5060, 5061, 6060,6061), no change.
I changed the audio port to other forwarded UDP ports, no results.
I ran a Test connection from the application. Results are obvious: "Unable to send/receive sound data! Port 13000 should..."

I also checked that the softphone is not blocked by windows firewall.

Any suggestions...? I would greatly appreciate.

I run Windows 7 and my router is Dlink DIR-655.

P.S. It would be GREAT to have the softphone work with Linux too...(i tried with wine , it crashes..)

Did you set individual port exceptions in the firewall and/or disable the firewall completely? If you've setup the router to port forward properly, the only other place I can think of that might be blocking ports would be software on your computer (unless you're modem is doing NAT to and a double-NAT environment is setup)

Update the firmware on your Dlink DIR-655. That particular router is known to have problems with SIP VOIP, and the latest firmware is supposed to fix it.
