Softphone does not work on Windows 7

I am using softphone.
With Windows XP it does work no problem.
On windows 7 messages goes strait to mail box. You can get message, no issue.
If you want to dial, no dial tone. No connection.

Please, help.

I hear dial when typing phone number.
Get calling number, and nothing is happenig after that. No any tone.
When calling number it is going to voice mail. No ringing to me.

Please, GPL help.

IF I were to guess, your windows firewall in blocking the SIP traffic, I would add an exception, or even better, disable the firewall, because it is worse than useless. If you are behind a router, it already has a better firewall.

bridonca's suggestion would also be my first suggestion too.

The softphone has undergone extensive testing in both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 platforms and neither experienced any troubles. It was also recently re-tested again under the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 environment, and again no issues were found.

Hi Steve,

I have disabled firewall. It is very strange that 2 Windows 7 computers have a problem, but other oen Window XP just work fine.
Softphone was used successfully until 3 days ago, but now it dies not work.

I just get message Calling 416....., and go back to the before dialing state.

This is Windows 7 system. 64 bit.

The only other advice I can offer is for you to uninstall JAVA, and then uninstall the soft phone, reset the computer, download and install the latest version of JAVA, and then re-install the soft phone. (Download the latest softphone if not done already). Wish I could be of more help.

I have the softphone also installed on my Windows7 64bit and it works just fine.

Do you have a 3rd party firewall as well as the windows one?
Does the softphone register with FPL? (ie you get your number in the top box).

It does work on Windows7 just fine, you just need to find the setting that is stopping it work on yours.

I'll also note that Microsoft really overhauled the Windows firewall between Win XP/Vista and Win 7. Trying to use the same setup as an earlier OS may not necessarily yield the same results.

Hm, have you tried compatibility mode? In case there's something "new" in your Win7 setup that the softphone doesn't like...

Rightlick on the icon, Properties, Compatibility tab, RUN the program...for, try different ones like WinXP or Vista.

My softphone is just working fine on my Window 7 Ultimate. Just disable the firewall and it works.
