Hi,
I am a new user, installed and configured the ATA today, to VOIP and FPL.
The current issues I'm having are:
1. On outgoing calls the other person cannot hear me.
2. On incoming calls I cannot hear the other person.
3. *98 can get me access to the menu but I cannot access my voicemail or personal options.
(seems as if dial pad at that point is not registering the keyed strokes).
Any and all help will be appreciated, even if you can point me to websites that I should read-up on.

Re: Outgoing/Incoming/Voicemail
Based on these symptoms, I can say that #1 and #2 are caused by your router. It's filtering the SIP packets. Two ways around this:
1) Check for firmware updates for your router and make sure you're running the latest firmware.
2) If number one doesn't fix it, then you'll need to set your router to port forward UDP port 5060 to your ATA. This way the router knows to pass all traffic on that port directly to your ATA and the traffic won't get "lost" causing the no audio issue.
Your *98 sounds like DTMF - I'm guessing you didn't buy the ATA from us if this is the case since ours works fine with voicemail menus. Try different DTMF settings in your ATA - assuming #1 or #2 above doesn't solve this also.
For any other help, you'll need to ensure you tell us your router model, ATA model and network setup. A lot has been left in the dark so I offered my suggestions based on the common setups.

Re: Outgoing/Incoming/Voicemail
Great support Steve!
I solved the issues using your advice on port forwarding and adjusting the DTMF.
As per the router and ATA model, thats listed on the right hand side under my user name.
For future reference to those working with the D-Link VTA-CV:
You can upgrade the firmware from here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r257893 ... ink-VTA-VR
and adjust the DTMF under Admin>VOIP>Common Coding>Digit Relay Mode>Inband DTMF Report to Host.
Error free on my second day, I'm glad I made the switch.
Thanks.
