Voicemail problem

Post by uoft23 »

When I try to pickup my voicemail lately, after the automated voice says "new message received" it pauses there and then goes silent and doesn't give the date and time and doesn't play the message. If I wait and call back a couple hours later it will work.

We're currently in the process of planning an upgrade which will resolve this problem for you. I'll update back here as soon as some dates are known.

I've also moved your topic to the correct section of the forum as it wasn't related to our mobile application.

May I ask what kind of Blackberry you're trying to run the .au file on? My 9700 running OS 6.0 play them with ease.

Hi Steve.

I would like to also say this is a problem for us. This is our primary home phone and not being able to pick up messages using *98 is incredibly frustrating.

I gave it a couple weeks of hearing complaints from family members, power cycled all the equipment on my end etc, and now and finally taking the time to submit the info to the forum. I found this thread which seemed to indicate it was going to be fixed already. Can you give us an ETA? Much apprecitated.

Also, here is a transcript of exactly what we hear. This has been a problem that has been going on for at least a couple weeks now. At first it was intermitent, but now it is constant and we are unable to pick up messages this way. Of course, I can go and get them from email, but other people in my family want to use the phone for all of these phone related tasks. They don't want to have to go to the computer and get it over email (and I may add figure out that the volume isn't turned up loud enough... etc...). It is a big hassle.

Here is exactly what we hear:
{{"You have 12 messages. Listen to voice messages press 1, Personal options press 3, exit press *" Press "1". First message received......."}} and then it hangs.

An update. I turned off "Data and Time announcement" and that seems to have stopped the 'hanging'.

For now this is what we will have to do. But, if you can please let us know when the voicemail hanging issue will be fixed, we would appreciate it - I'd like to turn this back on. Thanks!

I just started using FPL today and have this issue as well. As I dial *98 and enter the menu, I have two options, select 1 to hear voice messages and select 3 to hear personal options. Neither of the two options are working. Selecting either/or does not get me any further. The automated message repeats and I am then disconnected. I think it might be an ATA problem that I need to look at, any suggestions?

It sounds like your DTMF is not being recognized - I'd try a different DTMF type in your ATA.

Got the same problem but interestingly when I use the PC app I can delete the messages but via the ATA route it still thinks I have messages waiting which I cannot access as it hangs after I hit "1" and my MWI is on :?:
