Hello
I am newbie and want to start using FPl service without using PC. I want to buy LINKSYS PAP2T-NA SIP VOIP model from market and just wondering how will it work as regular phone after buying config file from FPL? Do I need to unlock this device since it is not sold by FPL? What do I need to do after buying config file? Since FPL support staff will not help me in configuring it. What are the steps involved?
Do I need to buy specific router as well?
Please share your experience
Thanks in advance

Re: LINKSYS PAP2T-NA SIP VOIP
I'm sure this thread will get moved before too long, but take a look here http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=310 that will tell you how to set it up.
If the device is not locked now - it should be OK. If you are buying the ATA from a shop, it won't be locked. It might be worth considering buying the device from FPL. They are very fast with delivery and at least you will know it is set up right for you. Otherwise you will just need to buy the config file, set up the ATA, and it should give you a FPL phone line. No special router is needed, but you may need to make some changes (port forwarding) depending on the router you have.
If you provide more information I am sure someone will be able to tell you what problems (if any) you will come up against. Normally it is just a case of plugging it in, setting it up, and using.
