Follow Me Not Working!
I am having difficulties with Follow Me on one of my cell phones. I have three cell phones, one with Rogers, Bell, and Telus, and all have Vancouver area codes. Follow Me works beautifully with my Rogers and Bell phones but will not work with my Telus phone. Whenever I set that phone up as the Follow Me phone number and someone calls, they get a message saying "The person you are reaching is unavailable....blah blah blah..." How can I fix this?!

Can you please PM me your number and the follow-me number you're having issues with? I'll look into this for you.

I am also having trouble with follow me to my Rogers cell phone. When it is out of signal area, like in my basement, freephoneline.ca will not take a message. Instead the customer gets the Rogers message, that customer is not available. The time for follow me is 30 seconds and the time for cell phone ringing is 30 seconds.

Unfortunately there won't be an easy way to overcome this Rogers message. Our follow-me system, like any call forwarding system, listens for rings. If you have it set to a 30 second timeout, it will listen to rings for thirty seconds before coming back to our voicemail system. If the phone is answered anytime during that 30 seconds, the call will no longer come back to our voicemail since the rings are over. Answering does include both a human answer, or a phone carrier answering with an automated message.mharvey500 wrote:I am also having trouble with follow me to my Rogers cell phone. Maybe Rogers can disable that message on your phone?

Re: Follow Me Not Working!
I asked Rogers and they cannot customize the behaviour to keep ringing when the cell phone is turned off or out of signal range. However, my old phone service Vonage was somehow able to tell the difference between a cell phone being off with a message and being answered. Maybe the absence of any rings at all would be the clue to a cell phone turned off.
