I downloaded the software from the freephoneline.ca website after registering. I installed the software and the installation appeared to work correctly.
However, when I attempt to launch the software, nothing happens. No GUI, no errors, nothing. I'm running windows 7.
I recently patched with some .NET Framework 4. Does this software use that framework?
Anybody have any ideas?

Re: Problems running freephoneline software
The freephoneline client uses java. Update java to the latestest and greatest, and see what happens.
It would probably be a good idea to uninstall the freephoneline client first, update Java, and then reinstall the latest freephoneline client. Computer resets would be a good idea also.

Re: Problems running freephoneline software
No end of issues with FPL client.
Windows XP
Just falls over. Crash. Gone. It will work for a while. made a couple of calls with it. Inrtermittent, random crashes.
No Dr. Watson logs. No Event Viewer messages.
Besides the fact the interface is harder to look at than your woman when she's caught you doing something you shouldn't. Besides the fact I paid good money for porting and a config file and I still have to watch ads (and have another set of problems with my phone).
Windows 7: no audio in/out. Microphone & speakers test fine.
As a matter of fact I just successfully set up the 3CX softphone on the Windows 7 box and it works like a charm.
Free. Very Sexy look. No I don't work for them. http://www.3cx.com/VOIP/sip-phone.html

Re: Problems running freephoneline software
I'm not sure why you'd be using the FPL when you've purchased your config file? And, there are a lot more free softphones out there, but 3CX is very good in itself. Blink & Jitsi (combined softphone, and multi protocol messenger (MSN, Jabber, Yahoo, ICQ, G Talk)) are 2 others that come to mind.
