Just got my TG784 modem with built-in ATA today. I connected a Bell handset analog phone to one of the two phone ports. I was able to call my home phone number (still active, porting not done yet), hear it ring and talk to someone when they picked up. The problem is there is a buzzing on the line. I tried an ADSL filter and still heard the buzzing.
Any suggestions as to how fix the buzzing?

I have the same modem. You should not need any filters plugged into the modem.
I would start by swapping things out.
1. Try a different phone in the modem to make sure the phone isn't doing something strange with the modem.
2. Try the other socket on the modem, just in case.
3. Try calling another number to make sure the buzzing isn't coming from the number you are calling.
