Just got an invoice $79.10 for a $20 Long Distance Voucher

Post by nguyendinh99 »

I bought configuration file for my ATA in April 2010. My credit card was billed by 'Worldline Waterloo ON' in April 2010 for that charge, for the same line (I only have one line).

On April 21st, 2011, when I logged on my Freephoneline account and updated profile, I got an email later with invoice for SIP Configuration $50 + $6.50 (HST) = $56.50. I read this link http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic ... oice#p8091 and I aware that it was an error in new systems and I ignore the invoice.

Today I called Freephoneline and bought $20 Long Distance Voucher over the phone with representative. I got home and checked email.
I got this invoice below.

Ref Description Amount
N/A Previous Balance, Invoice #13252 (04/21/2011) $56.50
255687 $20 Long Distance Voucher $20.00
Sub-total $20.00
HST, ON $2.60
Total $79.10
Balance Due $79.10

I hope Freephoneline is going to charge my visa $22.60 for $20 Long Distance Voucher.

Could above invoice have been a billing error???

Resolution

Glad to hear that you were able to bring it to a positive resolution. Just curious, did they ever state what went wrong that lead to the billing error in the first place? Mainly so that we know what to watch out for ourselves, or prepare ourselves to do in case we are faced with a similar scenario... ??

We have numerous different systems that we have been changing over since 2010 so this could have been the case for the duplicate transactions. No worries though, We will give full refunds to the people who have been wrongfully charged twice. Have a great long weekend guys.
