Hi,
I just recently bought a Cisco Spa504G. It had been working great but I have encountered some problems. When placing the phone on DND or (do not disturb)and making a call to the phone is goes straight voice mail as normal. However when placed off of DND the phone does receive calls and becomes unregistered. A similar problem occurs when the Call Forwarding feature is engaged. The phone does not forward to my cellphone is goes straight to by Freephoneline.ca voice mail. When placed off of Call Forwarding the phone is unable to receive call and becomes unregistered when restarted/rebooted.
Also a peculiar problem occurs when receiving a call from a friend's cellphone whose carrier is Bell Canada. As far my knowledge goes this only happens when he calls. When receiving the call from him the phone as no audio on both sides, I am unable to hear him and he cannot hear me as well. What becomes very strange is after that call I am unable to hear any calls to any numbers. The phone still registers fine and can make and receive the calls but there is no audio on both sides. for any number after that initial one form my friends cell. To get my phone working I have to unplug the Ethernet cable to un-register the phone, register with a softphone on my computer then un-register the softphone and then re-register my Cisco Spa504G, and that seems to work.
So writing this if anyone has experienced problems like this. Any Solutions? Tips perhaps, or even settings that I need to check that would help me avoid this. I also wanted to ask if I would be better installing a 3CX or ipPBX server to register with freephoneline.ca and register my phone as a extension opposed to registering it directly.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
