I do not believe Freephoneline does anything to stop you from using their soft phone in India, but I am almost certain Indian ISP's employ certain blocks to VOIP calls to protect their phone monopoly. I would not have enough experience on how to get around those restrictions, sadly.

As per bridonca's reply, once you are registered and up and running with FPL (assuming that you did indeed register and at one time had it up and running, either the softphone or ATA), you should be able to use it anywhere that you have an internet connection.
That being said, some hotels, internet cafe's and other service providers make using VOIP over their connections VERY DIFFICULT. There are certain ports that need to be accessible, so check our local machine's settings, especially the firewall.
See if there is anyone locally that you can ask about any restrictions your service provider THERE (India) may have on VOIP service.
So technically, on the FPL side of things, there is no issue - it is a local connectivity issue. Like I say, first thing is check your local machine, make sure that the firewall/router etc is allowing the ports that the VOIP will need, and failing that, investigate a bit and see if it is a service provider issue on the internet side of things.
