Can not receive any calls at all

Post by WilliamY »

HI, All

I just bought config file today and I used Linksys PAP2-T NA model. The settings exactly like the one found in the PDF on the FPL forums, PAP2T is on the DMZ, ports (5060-6060, 10000-20000 ) were forwarding to PAP2T. I can make calls without any problem, but I CAN NOT receive any call, No ring then went to voic mail. I even tried connecting it DIRECTLY to the rogers cable modem, but can not receive AND make any calls, no ring, all the calls then direct to the voice mail, is my PAP2-T NA is defective?

Any helps are appreciated, I'm having Rogers internet. Linksys WRT54GL router flashed to tomato v1.28.1816

Thanks,

William

See what happens when you turn everything off, the modem, the ATA, and router. Then turn on the modem, wait 20 secs, turn on the router, wait another 30 seconds, and then turn on the ATA. Sometimes the setting do not kick in until after a reset.

I assume you have it set up so that the ATA can always be accessed via 192.168.1.115 right?

In the Proxy and Registration settings of the ATA, select yes on the Use Outbound Proxy setting. Lower the Register Expires setting from 3600 seconds down to 120 seconds.

In your RTP port parameters, you have the RTP port min and max from 16384 to 16482. On your Tomato port forwarding rules, instead of forwarding 10000-20000, forward 16385-16482 instead. Forward 16384 separately to the ATA. It should not matter the way you did it, but sometimes a router is not programmed as logically as it should be.

I think that should do it. just remember to do the power down sequence I mentioned earlier after you do these changes.

Did you mean 192.168.1.133? if so, how to I know the ATA can always be accessed via the address, I have put it in to DMZ

Whoops! Yeah, I meant 192.168.1.133. My bad. I read the wrong line.

DMZ is useless to you, get rid of it.

I starting to run empty on my bag of tricks. You could set the ATA port to 5062 to see if Rogers or it's modem/router is messing things up on port 5060. You could see if you can access the Rogers modem/router, and port forward with that. That might do something, because it is very odd that you still had the same issues even when you took the tomato router out of the equation. In most cases, an ATA connected directly to the modem with an in built router should just work.

HI,

Problem solved after calling to a freephoneline tech support, he is really good and knew what I was talking about, It turns out that in their system the 'ring before voice mail' was set to 1/0, while in my account on the web page, it displayed '3' by default, I have to click the update button to make it become a real 3 into their system. I think its a bug in freephoneline.

Thanks for the helps.
