Hi all,
I'd like to sign up for a FPL and start to get it set up at my home. However, I have a phone number I absolutely have to keep. Can I sign up and start to set things up and then have the number ported in for me?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Adeel

Yes absolutely.
You can either set up a softphone and try things, or jump in feet first and get an ATA and the config file. Both ways will use a free number from FPL. Then when you are ready you can port your number over which will replace your FPL number you have.

Re: Want to sign up - port after?
ok so today i got my pap2t-na, and config file.
found a link for step by step setup instructions for my adapter...took about 3 mins and it looks like im good to go...testing features with my cell phone...voicemail seems ok...callerid seems to work...was able to flash to another caller ie call waiting (which was visual)...only thing is (and i should probably make a separate topic)...it sometimes takes some time for a dialtone to come up...especially if i hang up then pick up again (on further testing it seems this is a phone thing and not a configuration problem)...also seems to default that for calls that dont have an ID attached, it just shows the number as the ID (previously I used to have it saying out of area)...but thats minor anyways
