Problem when switch to the call waiting in 2nd line

Hi,

When I switch to the call waiting in 2nd line using the flash button on the phone, frequently both party cannot hear each other due to a cranking noise on both end.

I have the Linksys WRTP54G ATA.

Anyone knows how to resolve the issue?
