Couple of website errors

Post by Jake »

On the main login page https://www.freephoneline.ca/login I get a couple of errors on the page.

1. Main logo image is missing (The powered by Fongo one)

Code: Select all

https://www.freephoneline.ca/images/fpl_fongo_fr.png
the French one is there

Code: Select all

https://www.freephoneline.ca/fr/images/fpl_fongo_fr.png
2. Another image is missing on the right side (link to English?)

Code: Select all

https://www.freephoneline.ca/images/english-link.gif

the French one is again there

Code: Select all

https://www.freephoneline.ca/fr/images/english-link.gif
3. A few of the images are scaled wrong in the nav bar on the English vesion. (signup, press, tell a friend)
4. Once logged in the bits at the far top seem to be in French for me.

Code: Select all

Just checked these ... using Firefox 9.0.1 ... and I am not getting any errors.

Purge cache, try again?

Which browser Jake?

FF9, IE9, and Chrome16 all missing images.
Do you see this image? or just the word 'image? >> Image
^^ image should be the 'powered by' logo image.

This is the image URL on my login page.

Code: Select all

https://www.freephoneline.ca/images/fpl_fongo_fr.png
PS, in FF you will not see a missing image, just some text as in my screenshots. Do you see a 'powered by' logo on the login page?

She are working here -- images and all. IE8 as well (not upgrading as I rarely use it!). Something odd on your end I think? Or maybe your ISP?

I dumped my cache here and re-tried it too, and it is all good here.

Tres odd.

I think it must be my ISP. I just tried via Telus on my mobile and it looks OK. I then loaded the same page via my wireless network instead of 3G and the images are missing.
I will have to get onto my ISP and ask them what is going on!

FPL, why is the page looking differently for me? You would have thought that having an inhouse ISP everything would be right

Ahhh, it looks like they might be doing some sort of geoip sniffing as if I connect in with a US ip I see this image

Code: Select all

https://www.freephoneline.ca/images/nav/fpl_fongo_web.png
which is different to the one I get when I connect in with them

Code: Select all

https://www.freephoneline.ca/images/fpl_fongo_fr.png
It looks like when I connect in with FPL they half think I am French. Most of the page is in English, but bits are trying to be French. Although the full French page seems to be OK.

Hmmmm okay, that could be. I am not sure what settings I have going on here, but the pages all looked fine to me; I am not well enough versed in messing around with my IPs to facilitate further testing on this, I am afraid.

Your results should be passed along to the webmaster tho, as there is obviously SOMETHING going on, probably along the lines you say in your last post ...

Too many things for us to find and break ... I was hoping "SANTA" would have a new softphone under my tree, but no such luck -- maybe a FonGo branded one soon tho --- 3 days left .... lol

It's no biggie. Just something I saw when logging into my account last night. I don't go in there very often, so I'm not going to get too upset by it. If I see it, then others must to, especially people with FPL DSL I suspect.

Not shocked by that at all, to be brutally honest ...

Any insight as to whether FonGoSanta will have a new computer softphone in his bag for all the good little boys and girls in FPL-land? Or is our lump of coal having to deal with the old one? ;-)

That does mean that I get to try to break it SECOND tho, right? ;-) I have an extra large 'beta-bashing hammer' that I used to wield --- I can add the optional impaling spikes to it, if needed ... it also has velcro for adding other odds and sods ... ;-)

Not to pile on, but that is "old" news now, covered in several other threads in much greater detail -- best to discuss it there!

Mine does it too, FF9, only when I'm logged in to the portal. On Rogers.
