fpl main web site is slow since morning.

Its sure there is something with FPL web site. Its slow since morning. Don't know why?

I had to work today, but as I type this, I am having a hard time accessing my account thru the login screen --- it has been loading for over 2 mins ... maybe they have been upgrading (haha) their box due to the FonGo thingy? Or perhaps their system is backing itself up, or has some kind of 01 Jan/2012 bug/virus ... lol -- after all, didn't the Mayans foretell that the world will end this year? Maybe the end is upon <transmission terminated>

Which is fairly terminal for the moment. Other domains on that server/IP are down as well, so they are probably just either doing something with it or having a hair pulling day.

Edit - Trying a few more times I slowly get the site to load. Maybe they are having a DDoS problem?

That is a distinct possibility ... or server maintenance. I dunno how many Fibernetics/FPL staff are on today, or if they off-site their stuff. One way or another, something is putting an awful load on their machines. Forums seem fine though (luckily). Maybe too many people hitting the new FonGo site ...

Fongo is on the same server/IP as the forum, but different to the main site, and the budphone type sites.

All seems to be back to normal now though, even the problems that I was having in the other thread.

Thanks for letting us know what the cause was Mike! Glad to hear it was as simple (or sounds like it was) as rebooting the box! See, we forum-ers notice almost everything!
