Linksys /Sipure SPA2100 configuration

Post by jenom »

I am trying to make my SPA2100 Linksys /Sipura ATA work with FPL.
Getting a solid green line beside the Line1, Info page shows REGISTERED, dial tone is Ok,
After dialing a local number ......green light starts blinking......no ringback tone.....after a few seconds getting a busy signal.

These two settings on Line 1 page have too many options:

1) DTMF TX METHOD:
Choices are:In Band, AVT, Info, Auto, InBand+Info, AVT+ Info

2)Hook Flash Tx Method:
Choices are: None, AVT, Info

Attached are my LIne 1 pages (3)

Any suggestions will be appreciated, but I would really like some input from other Linksys/Sipure users

Thanks!

I have an SPA3102 which is somewhat similar to your for setup.

It may be because the ATA is not getting your external IP address correctly.
Try turning on "Nat mapping enable" and just as well "NAT keep alive"
and run STUN at the same time (eg. stun.ekiga.net or stun.voipuser.org).

You can leave DTMF on Auto or Info and hook flash is likely just as well set to None

I am so sorry about that, I wanted to post in DISCUSSION, but accidently entered in F.A.Q
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Used trial and error methode to diagnose the problem and discovered something new (for me)
In DISPLAY NAME I put my wife's first name, then the "&" sign, then my first name. (not on the screenshot) ...xxxxxx & yyyyyyy
Well, as soon when emptied this line, it started working.
Narrowed it down to the "&" sign, looks like it means something else or it represents a function?
Tried with "-" sign, and with "+" between, both worked, so ended up using a "+" sign.

During my trial I also discovered the followings:
1)Anything NAT related: no /disable
2)Outbound Proxy line: empty
3)Anything OB Proxy releated, leave it disabled / no
4)Call or receive a call without registering is NO (wouldn't work)
5)Anything ECHO related disable /no (if got no problem with echo)
6)DTMF=Auto
7)Hook Tx=none
8)G711u works a preferred codec (best sound quality/ but more bandwidth)
9)Use only preferred codec is YES (if the best quality works, use it always)
10)Enable IP dialing: No
