Cordless Phones

Post by Pierre »

In my house, I am currently using a combination of two six year old cordless phones plus some even older pushbutton phones, in all I have a total of seven phones.

I am considering getting rid of the messy phone wiring :( by replacing all of my current phones with a newer cordless phones system. One of the phones to be located in my backyard shed about 300’ away from the house. I am not necessarily looking for fancy features such as Bluetooth, alarm etc., just something that provides good sound quality has a large call display and has a good enough range to reach my shed in my back yard.

Anyone has experience or recommendations on a VOIP compatible telephone cordless system that would meet my needs?

Many Thanks,
Pierre

Hi Pierre,

i would suggest looking into any models that catch your eye while shopping. As long as the base (of the cordless phone set) is plugged into the ATA device, they should work up to what ever distance they claim.
Here a couple i was able to look up for you:
http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/ct14

http://askville.amazon.com/cordless-pho ... Id=7532083

sorry i can not give you any more detail or suggestions, but htis should start you off in the right direction

Pierre, it would be much appreciated if, when you get your phone, you post on here what you got and how it is working out for you (if you have the time) :)

Mike,
I’ve settle on the VTECH DS6421-3 base combo with additional five DS6401 phones and one headset. DECT 6.0 technology, range and intercom capabilities were major factors in my decision.
I have some outbuildings away from the house and was looking at a cordless system that can reach everywhere on my property. I just ordered this system today and expect I should get it within a week or so. It will be nice to clean up all the conventional phone wiring.
I’ll let you know how it works, I trust it will be an improvement over the mishmash set up I have now :) :) :) .

I thought you were looking for a cordless phone with built-in SIP. In that case, this may be the one for you http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-KX-TGP5 ... roduct_top.
