ht286 from fpl low audio

hey, im using the ht286 from fpl and i keep getting people complaining that my voice sounds really low, they can barely hear me..... i know its not the phones cause they say its fine when i switch it back to my bell line...... any way of increasing mic audio on the ata?

You might have an impedance mismatch between your phone handset and the ht286. Check that the FXS Impedance is set to "600 Ohm North America". The "On Hook Voltage" should be 36 V.
