privacy of personal details with FPL

Hi,

A friend of mine who is thinking of buying your SIP settings and porting her phone number to your service is very privacy conscious and has taken great pains to avoid her personal details getting published in the phone book. In fact, I believe she pays something for this to not happen.

Her question to you guys is - will her phone number and name appear in the phone book as a result of terminating her service with Bell and signing up with you? Is there something that can be done, in case this happens?

I noticed that there is a check-box in our preferences where we specify whether we would like to "publish" details about ourselves, but I wasn't sure whether this means internally inside the FPL system OR (also) externally in other sources like the phone book.

VoIP phone numbers are not published under any phone book.

The check box you are referring to is also just for internal user searches, say someone searches "Kris" on our FPL search, it would come up with everyone with kris in their name.

Whether it shows your personal data is up to you.
