maintenance?

Post by djc »

So I noticed my DV app stopped connecting to the service on my android phone maybe about an hour and a half ago. I was connected to DV just over 2 hours ago.

Anyway, no matter what I tried, it wouldn't connect. When I went to the PC, it had no server connection and when I did a test, it says

Result: service temporary unavailable

and on the bottom of the test window, it apologized for having the service down.

So if it is indeed a maintenance, would it be possible to get some kind of update on the website or somewhere. That way you won't be flooded with people saying they're not able to connect when they wouldn't be able to anyway.

I have been able to connect in the past so thought maybe something went wrong may have to make a new account. I read the other posts here about others not being able to connect but I guess if this is a maintenance thing then I should be fine when the service is back up.

Well, I just I'll just wait to see if I can connect later. Hopefully it's just maintenance and nothing else for me not being able to connect.

Dell voice down but fongo, I mean FPL, still fine.
I have config file from both fpl and dv but dv is not working(password not valid). Of course password is correct. It was working fine before.

Yup my pc and phone aren't able to connect either for a couple of hours. Could be a server problem.

Well I am late to the party, but mine is connecting fine. I do realise this is 5 hours after the last comment, but no one has said anything since. Do you all still have problems?

Woke up this morning and I was connected. I don't know how long it was down for but it would've been nice to have a notice on their site or something about service maintenance. Otherwise, I'm sure there would be more people complaining about not connecting since when you try to connect on android (not sure on iproducts) it doesn't say service maintenance. (only said when I did a test through pc)

When we do planned maintenance it will always be announced on the forums and if it's large maintenance then also through our mailing list.

Are there any common trends between everyone having these problems the other night? Geographical location, or anything?

If there wasn't a planned maintenance, then I'm not sure what was the reason I couldn't connect. I'm in Vancouver and on Wed Feb 15th, around 8:30 I still had connection to the servers. I know this since I was calling my DV voicemail. I noticed I lost connection around 9ish. Not exactly certain of the times but around there and never had connection until the next day in the morning. This was different than just the intermittent disconnections as no matter how much it tried, it couldn't connect.

Even now, Feb. 18th, after I upgraded to version 1.2.8 I still get disconnected to the servers intermittently. So not sure what the problem is or if it's connected.

I'm on a Nexus S with stock ICS 4.0.3 rom, with a bit of tweaks.
