Wrong phone extension typed.

Post by jaysupreme »

Hi,

I'm using Dell Voice App on my laptop and when I need to type an extension, I'm getting transfer to another one. Exemple, I typed 4028 but the phone system at the other end connected me to 4202??? Sometime the system just say that the extension doesn't exist or it's incomplete.

Do I have a settings to modify?

Thank you!

Laptop: Windows 7 64bit French with the latest version of DV.

This sort of thing has come up before on the FPL softphone.

A suggestion that came up then was to change the DTMF type and try again. (I think it is in the "other" section on the settings menu.)

I seem to remember people had different luck with clicking the numbers with the mouse and pressing the buttons on the keyboard. If you are not a particularly good connection the tones might be sent broken up a bit, or not sent at all.

I have two DTMF choice in the Other section. I have InBand (Tone) and Info(SIP). By default, it was on InBand (Tone). I change it to Info(SIP) but it still not 100% accurate. The first time I typed the phone extension it was not recognized. The second time, it worked.

I'll test these two settings and see which one is better.

Thank you for your fast reply!
