Unable to register a montreal phone number

Post by agir »

Hi,

I've been trying to get a montreal phone number, but i always end up with the same number on each tries. When i try to register it, i get an error message: Sorry but the account number is already registered. Please click on get number to get new number and finish the registration.

Are there any Montreal numbers left?

Thanks

Try clearing your browser cache and cookie history (or enable PRIVATE browsing).

I know that there are currently Mtl #'s available (I just tried) and there are more than one ...

You could also try registering via the web-interface on the PC if you are having trouble on the smartphone app ...

Sadly, at the moment we are not able to offer Montreal proper numbers (although you are still able to select Lachine or Point-Claire. When we first released Dell voice, we had not been expecting the HUGE response we got. Although we have over one million numbers at any given time that can be assigned, they are broken down to all of the regions we offer service in.
At this point, we ask that you take a number for another area local to Toronto (perhaps Markham or North York) When Toronto numbers become available again, you would want to either sign up a second account while using another email address, or delete your account and sign up again using the same one.

Mike: canned or recycled answers??? ;-)

I get Lachine and PC being local to Mtl, but then you switch gears in the same post and suggest a <choke> TO </choke> alternative or Markham or Nyork? OOOPS! :-)

I knew you ran out of TO numbers, but I just logged into a dummy account that I have partially registered, just for seeing number availability, and I was able to hit two separate Mtl-proper phone numbers by clicking "I don't like this number" -- I did not SELECT either one ... They were both in 438-338 range, but were different line numbers...

Fibernetics in Montreal

Post by TheHardy »

Just as an additional note, Fibernetics has, in the 438 NPA, the following NXX's _assigned_ (which means pending, not yet in service or release-able):

438-388 MONTREAL
438-538 POINTE-CLAIRE
438-638 ILE PERROT

No guarantee that any of the Fibernetics numbers will come down to DV/Fongo, but most likely they will, at least some of them.

Update, we will have more Montreal proper numbers released shortly. The numbers should be available in the next hour or so (give or take a few minutes)

Thanks for posting back the update Mike. Question (if you are able to answer it):

Were the additional numbers "reclaimed" ones from accounts that timed out or did Fibernetics release more of it's pool to FPL/Fongo/DV?

Just slightly curious ... :-)
