Problems connecting with SIP clients

Post by localhorse »

I don't know if this is related to the recent outages or not, but as of today I can no longer register with sip.fongo.com using either my Asterisk server or straight through my Linksys ATA.

It seems that I can connect using the Dell Voice client on Windows (I'm subscribed through Dell Voice). However, none of my SIP devices will register with the server.

On the Dell Voice settings page, it shows the registration status as "connected", with a user agent that I am not familiar with. Asterisk logs show the SIP registration with sip.fongo.com timing out. Sipura syslog messages show "ERR:AuthServerNotConfig".

Also, I am getting some strange behaviour when calling the phone number with my cell phone. Normally when I am not registered with the server it will forward to voicemail, now it is either giving me a busy signal or ringing perpetually.

Any information would be much appreciated.

The issue was with firewall settings I had changed on my DIR-615 (I didn't have SIP checked on the ALG configuration) for unrelated troubleshooting purposes, and forgotten to restore. The problem was completely on my end, and is now resolved.

My apologies!

I ran into a similar problem. It's been driving me crazy for a few days now. No inbound calls!! Thanks for the info about the router. Although I did not have the same problem, it did make me look at the router settings more closely. I use port forwarding and I found that the IP for voip.freephoneline.ca had changed. Once I updated the router with the new IP all is good again.

Cheers.
