Unable to get calls from certain numbers
This is strange. There are certain numbers that when they call my SIP number it goes straight to voice mail. But other calling numbers are ok. Just certain numbers get voice mail. I try from another telephone and it rings OK. It's like freephone line does not like certain incoming numbers. Its not sometimes. It's always. But somedays it's OK. Whats up with the freephoneline?

Re: Unable to get calls from certain numbers
It is probably related to the port or some other part of the configuration of the client/ATA at your end. How were the callers calling you.. regular phone)PSTN), voip phone(eg. Fongo) or other?

Re: Unable to get calls from certain numbers
I had a similar thing once when I used the suggested settings for the PAP2T (this was before they changed it).
That time it was down to a codec problem. I had it to use G729, and ONLY use preferred codec. Once I changed it to NOT just use preferred codec the calls didn't go straight to voicemail like you explain they do from certain numbers. You might have a similar situation here. Are you able to tell if the people calling in are using VOIP, a certain telco, or any other connection between them?
In your call logs, does it show the call coming in? you may have to look in the failed calls list also.

Re: Unable to get calls from certain numbers
As the other posters have noted, a lot of it depends on HOW those incoming calls are reaching you (ie: which service provider the CALLER is using). That is one of the downsides of VOIP is that it is a lot more temperamental than POTS and susceptible to a lot more variables. As Jake states, changing up your CODEC settings will help out most of the time.
VOIP-VOIP calls seem to be the hardest to get through correctly (when between different VOIP providers, that is!).
The more information you can draw out, the more useful our suggestions and assistance can be.
