In the FPL's default dial plan for Linksys PAP2T, it has |98*|. I can dial *98 to access my voice mail. Can any one tell why the dial plan is |98*| and I can dial *98?
Currently I bought an Obi ATA, I have to use |*98| in the dial plan.
Dian plan |98*|

Re: Dian plan |98*|
I guess it's a typo, should be *98, and [6-7]*xx should be *[67]xx, FPL should correct its web page.

Re: Dian plan |98*|
I set the dial plan according the FPL instruction as (911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.)
And I can dial *98 to access VM. If this is a typo, that means PAP2T allows *98 by default. I am go to do a test to see *98 is still working if I remove |98*| from dial plan.

Nothing is typo'd
There's a post somewhere that breaks down each section of the dial-plan.

Hi Steve, Can you tell me why |98*| makes the *98 call? I couldn't find anything about this. Thanks.

Re: Dian plan |98*|
I wonder if 98* is aliased somewhere within Fongo to *98. The dial plan would normally include *xx to allow any 2 digit star code (Sipura/Linksys ATAs use two digit *codes for Vertical Service Code Assignments) but I don't think it is in the Fongo dialplan.

My question is why |98*| in dial plan allows us to dial *98 in PAP2T. |98*| does NOT work in other ATAs. I have to use |*98| in dial plan.
