Mine has been on for a couple of days as well ... I dial in and check the web page and there are no messages.
But my Linksys PAP2T shows there is a message waiting.

Your ATA probably just missed the code sent from FPL that you no longer have any VM'szepperdude wrote:Mine has been on for a couple of days as well ... I dial in and check the web page and there are no messages.

Message Waiting: Yes Call Back Active: No
If you have a PAP2 you can do the following:
Log into you PAP2 as Administrator, not User
Click User1 (or 2 if your using user line 2)
Scroll down to "Supplementary Service Settings"
change the "message waiting" option from Yes to NO
save settings
that should clear your VM issues.

Do I have to change it back to yes once it is cleared?

Re: Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) Not Going Off
I'm (or specifically my in-laws are) having a problem with the MWI. When a message is left, there is no indication that this is the case. They have the Grandstream HT-286 ATA. I have tried toggling the MWI subscription option in the device settings but it has made no difference. I still hear no audible indication that there is a message waiting. And, of course, since the ATA is not providing an indication of a message waiting, neither is the phone handset.
This is a real problem since it means they have to check messages "just in case" there is one waiting.
Any ideas? Are there any other tricks I can do with the Grandstream ATA to get this to work? It used to work then it stopped a couple of months ago.
