Hi,
I have a 416-987-xxxx landline from Bell, I would like to try out FPL before I port my landline. Since there is no FPL Toronto number available now, I plan to get a FPL Mississauga (where my parents are) or Markham (where my friends are) number for now, and port my number later.
1. Does it matter that my FPL number and my to be ported landline have different area code?
2. Also, please confirm if my Bell number is portable to FPL (I'm not sure what's the requirement for porting).
Thanks

Re: Porting questions
1) your number should be portable
2) It does not matter what FPL number you take before porting yours
3) When you'll be ready to port:
A) Do NOT suspend your Bell number. it will be done automatically when FPL ports it. You will need to call FPL's customer service, they will guide you.
B) You will be asked to fill in a porting authorization form to return to FPL + your last Bell invoice. Be sure the information on the FPL form is the same as on your Bell invoice.
