Dial strings - PC Application

Post by TheHardy »

Heads up -- I am out of town in Vernon BC, using my Vancouver BC-based FPL # on the PC app ... and I tried dialing some of my speed dials, only to have them fail ... then I looked more closely, and realized that I had saved them as 11D #'s ... when I manually input them as 10D, they worked correctly.

HOWEVER, when I am at "home" near Vancouver BC, it works as both 11D and 10D ...

Why would my physical location make a difference?

Fongo_Steve or _Mike -- if you want to PM me on this, I will give you the specific phone number ... I tried it like 10 times ... and the error was getting a TELUS message about uninitialized voicemail .... weird to be sure!! Something specific to BC?? First time I can recall encountering this issue for all the times I have used the software out of town ... unless the other times I was just manually entering 10D .... ???

very unusual - the softphone doesn't have anyway of knowing where you are - so whether you called from home in BC or our office in Ontario the server wouldn't see anything different between the two calls.

You're welcome to drop me a line with the numbers and call details!

Unable to duplicate the error this morning after I PM'd you Steve ... very odd ... doing exactly the same thing I did from the exact same location (and same IP address) that I did it last night!! :-/

Weird....
