How to disable call-waiting

I am using PAP2T. When the phone is in use, the other caller hears the long beep sound which may let people think there is no one in home.
Is there a way to disable the call waiting so the other caller can hear busy sound when phone is in use?

You can temporarily disable the call-waiting feature when placing a call. Just dial *70 before dialing the number. This will forward incoming calls to the voicemail without ringing the phone. I use this feature when sending a fax. When you complete the outbound call, the call-waiting feature will be restored. I'm not sure if there is an option to disable permanently the call-waiting.
