Help

Post by ap236 »

I can't seem to make any calls, but my internet service seems to be working fine. I even did a reboot of my modem and router.

No incoming audio May 24, 2012

Post by rfgrossi »

As of 3 pm, May 24th, I cannot hear any sound on calls outside of the Freephoneline/Fongo network. i hear dial-tone, but no ringing and no sound after that. However, when calling another Freephoneline number, all works well. I have not made any changes to my network or my ATA device.

I'm in the London, Ontario region.

hopefully gets resolved soon. Thank you.

Make sure that you have assigned a static internal IP to you PAP2T and forward the required ports from the router to the PAP2T. When you have done that reboot the rooter and the ATA and try it again.

Is freephoneline having issues

Post by slvrsi »

Suddenly today I'm seeing trouble with registrations (times out every so often). Then the pings seemed to be super lagged. and some one way audio.

I am using an asterisk box and havent' changed anything... wondering if there are network issues.

Thanks for the input. PAP2T is set to static IP. All ports have been forwarded as per previous discussions in this forum. I have reset both the PAP2T and my router to no avail. Have had current settings for over two years and, as stated, the problem does not occur on calls to other Freephoneline numbers.

Looks like I'll just have to wait it out. Thanks though.

Well, it should be working OK so it would be good to know what the problem is! Make sure you have forwarded ports 5061 UDP and 5062 UDP to the ATA and that they are set int the ATA configuration to Line 1 and Line 2 respectively.
You should already have lots of port forwarded for RTP but make sure that the range is set in the ATA. If it does notr work work with those setting then try running a STUN server (eg. stun.ekiga.net) and "NAT mapping enable".

long connection or failed connection

Post by Bob »

Hi support,
it's similar to previous topic - I call home and even when they pick up the phone I still hear ring sounds for like 30-40 seconds ... and there is a good chance that instead of talking to them I just hear short beeps ( it's supposed to be voice mail or forwarding ). Please help . I have two lines and I failed to connect to both of them several times now ( please note that issue is of intermittent force ( I had a chance to talk to my son once ).
Thanks,
Bob

Incoming call rings and doesn't stop ringing on the phone making the call even when I pickup on my end. Sometimes it goes directly to voicemail. Just so you know it's been working almost flawlessly for quite a while until today. System having some problems today?

I encountered a same issue. SIP registration timeouts from time to time. Sometimes the log shows:

-- Got SIP response 503 "Going to shutdown" back from 208.65.240.165

Server side problem?

I'd like that add that I've had significant issues with the service today. Many people tell me they tried to call and got either a dead signal, or the answering service, or endless ringing. I've also had trouble calling out. There does seem to be some server issue.

Yeah, I had 2 notices from my server last night that FPL was down. That means the service was down for at least 3 minutes each time on my side. Also seeing many lagged messages on my Asterisk console, not that they hurt anything, but...

I am only using the PC software (FPL not DV) and notice lately (last few weeks) that "NO CONNECTION TO SERVER" pops up a lot -- akin to the reg fail on an ATA, but as it software and works most of the time, I know it is not a router or IP problem.

Seems that with the heavy load of users, something on the FPL/Fongo side of things causes the reg server to fail to auth at times.

Annoying as all heck, hopefully the stretch-marks of expansion fade away soon and the service can become as reliable (or more so) than it was previously!!!
