Fongo powers free calling solutions for a number of brands. This forum includes information and tips on all of those offerings. Note that your specific services may vary based on the specific Fongo product that you're using.
Hi everyone. I checked the FAQ and tried some searches on here but couldn't find the answer. Does the FPL service allow things like *69 or the *98 to block your caller-id information from going out? Wife was asking and I didn't immediately know the answer.
Thanks!
Lobo
P.S. Forgot to add that this would be with a home phone system and not the software app.
If you search the forums you should be able to find answers to your question as it has be asked before. If I remember correctly the answer is no and even if you use the * codes and the ATA does not send it Fongo will insert the information.
There has been much discussion on the forums about this (search, as dibsmft suggested).
Short and sweet -- CID blocking not available.
Reason: as a mainly free service, this ensures "accountability" in the event of mis-use of the service (there was a small checkered history of that early on!), such as annoying prank calls, telemarketting etc where the service would be used for unintended purposes.
There has been talk about openning up CID block to paid users, but there has been no finalization on any of that.
Clear as mud?
