250-652 is SAANICH, and although it is LOCAL to Victora, and part of Victoria's-LCA (Local Calling Area), it is currently NOT included as a FREE call on Fongo. Why? I have asked myself, as there are several areas surrounding major centres where parts of their LCA are NOT included as free calls (notably around Halifax and Winnipeg). Saanich falls into the same category ... as it seems that only Victoria-proper is free.

Please feel free to PM Fongo_Neil directly for clarification on this --- hopefully if you get some, you could share it with the rest of us!

It is funny I can call Langford, which is outside of Victoria proper but not Saanich.

That is one of the oddities that I mention --- FONGO however does not work by regional or geographic BOUNDARIES but rather by telco RATECENTRES ... (which again do not respect boundaries) -- it comes down to "where is the wire pulled from" (harkening back to the old days of copper phone wire strung on poles) ... Langford is served out of the VICTORIA ratecentre for all intents and purposes ...

Just for your reference too, there has been a bit of discussion about the coverage ... and FULL entire LCA coverage is only provided according to Fongo_Steve, in areas where Fongo offers DIDs -- and in BC that is currently only Vancouver (as the Richmond, New West, NVan and WVan numbers all MIRROR the Vancouver LCA exactly). The same issue that you have also exists for the calling into Nanaimo (can't call Cedar or Lantzville for example, which is most of NORTH Nanaimo including the malls!), Comox (can't call Black Creek even tho you can spit on it), Kelowna (can't call Westbank nor Lakeview Hts, which are part of metro Kelowna and have some numbers ported INTO actual Kelowna) ... I could go on and on, but it is a known issue.
