Callers can't hear me

Post by michaelpayas »

Starting last night callers could not hear me though I could hear them. I fiddled with all the connections, unplugged the power etc. to no avail, and then the next incoming call suddenly they can hear me - or at least for this call. To questions:
Do other people have this problem?
Was it connected with the storm last night?

I don't have a problem like that but if you do, it is probably the RTP port (13000 by default on softphones) not being open. Lots of discussions about port forwarding are in this forum so I am not going to repeat them here.

I couldn't say that it is connected with the storm last night because I have my network and VOIP gears powered by an uninterruptible power supply, hence I was not affected! :D

This is the best place to start --- check that, get back to us with that information and if there are any other bits of information that may prove useful for us to assist you! :-)

Have you solved your problem?

I am having the same problem - it was not working from the beginning since I singed on early this week. Called technical support twice, and factory reset PAP2 NA, still not working.

ATA: SPA-1001
Router: SMCD3GN
ISP: Rogers

Two lines:
1. FPL - not working
2. VOIP.ms - has been working for over 3 years.

I am having the same problem since the signup early this week, now I am running out options.

ATA: PAP2T SPA-1001
Router: SMC SMCD3GN
ISP: Rogers

The phone adapter has two lines, one with VOIP.ms has been working flawlessly for over 4 years. FPL line has not worked since the signup.

Call technical support twice, and just reset the adapter, re-enter information anew, still not working. Port forwarding (should not be an issue) has been put in place.
