When I call the number which is disconnected I received a busy signal.
From a different provider I can hear the message
"The number you dialed is not in service, please check the number and dial again."
This is very confusing I trying to get through to my friend. Just accidentally I found out that the number is disconnected.

Re: The number disconnected & busy signal
The error message that your friend's old provider is sending needs to be INDUSTRY standard to be be passed along correctly by Fongo (DV/FPL), otherwise their system just recognizes it as a NO CONNECT and either disconnects or rings busy.
That said, I think that FONGO needs to be a little more tolerant in their system passing along fail messages, so that callers are better informed as to WHY they have failed ....
Specifically, when calling my work mobile without voicemail, the default reply is "The Telus Mobility client you are trying to reach is currently unavailable, please try your call again later" .... if I dial with FONGO, after the number if rings which usually time out to receive that message, the call just ends, and the PC softphone just says "DISCONNECTED" with no error message ....
Steve/mike: If you are reading this, PM me, and I can provide you with my work mobile # so that you can test it out if you wish --- just let me know the time you are planning on calling and what # to expect a call from, and I can ignore it so that you can see the fail state.

I asked my friends to test this number.

Shaw
Betamax
Everyone got the message:
"The number you dialed is not in service, please check the number and dial again."

Yup... sounds right. If you want me to independently test it from here to verify that it is a FONGO problem, feel free to PM me the disconnected # ...
I can say, after finding a BC Shaw @ that was discon today, that my FPL app correctly reaches the SHAW message of a fail....

Re: The number disconnected & busy signal
Tested ...
Confirming from both FPL & DV pc softphones, that it comes up straight "FAILED". I used Vancouver-based #'s and also tried an Edmonton based # just for giggles.
Calling from my company cell phone (TELUS MIKE), I get "The number you have reached is not in service, this is the Telus Mobility Network, C1" (this is a carrier specific message from my end, not from the terminating carrier).
From GMAIL dial phone app (GoogleCall): 5-6 rings, then regular cadence BUSY tone ...
I think that the terminating carrier is not sending the CORRECT error code ... which is why FONGO apps are coming up FAILED rather than playing a recording.
Edit: from WIND prepaid, I get a WIND message "Sorry, the number you are calling does not exist, are you sure you are calling the right one?"
So it is getting carrier specific error messages, not a standard one from the carrier that disconnected it ...
