Combining FPO & Dell Voice?
Hi all,
Suspect this is a dumb question, but is there not a way to have iphones and desktops/laptops in the household all use the same account? Or can Dell Voice not simply log into the same Fongo account? Or is the only way to accomplish this to have separate numbers for each DV account on iPhones and do forwarding?
thanks!
Mario

Unfortunately the answer is no. Only one device can be logged into your account at one time.

A nice thought for total automation and a complete all-in-one solution, but unfortunately no such luck ...
Maybe in a future Fongo offering ... "Fongo Total Home" ???

so - does that mean that only one computer or device (phone modem) can be logged in at one time? In other words, several laptops cannot be logged in at one time?Jake wrote:Unfortunately the answer is no. Only one device can be logged into your account at one time.

Yes that is how it is. You cannot have two computer logged into the same account at one time. (well you can, but it won't work as you expect it to)mariodaigle wrote:so - does that mean that only one computer or device (phone modem) can be logged in at one time? Marketting slogan ... "Fongo Total Home -- the ONLY phone number you'll ever need!" "Combine your mobiles, home and other phones into one integrated package, complete with _add features_etc_ with the added benefit of CANADA-WIDE free calling* (to major centers), blah-blah apps that run off WIFI or 3G/4G/LTE data etc ...." yadda yadda yadda....FONGO_dom wrote:I really like the sound of that. Ask Mike -- I already came up with a ton of marketting ideas in another thread ... when do I expect my first FONGO paycheque to arrive??

I passed this thread and the idea to the powers that be in the right department for this idea to be taken into consideration. (Ultimate Home Phone? Total Home Phone? Phone To Go?)

It is one thing to look at ... not sure what avenues they are already exploring ... ??? Can we persuade them to fix the existing software(s) too please??FONGO_mike wrote:I passed this thread and the idea to the powers that be in the right department for this idea to be taken into consideration. If they harvest any of my ideas out of this, do I score a free ATA w/config file out of the deal? Or should I just keep track of the hours I put in to the creative marketing and bill you guys later? ;

Re: Combining FPO & Dell Voice?
Sounds like a fare request there Hardy
Short term: The technologies that the Fongo/FPL servers are based on allow for only a single sign-on as a fraud deterrent, if an account becomes compromised, supposedly being kicked off your account, likely repeatedly, would let the account user realize they have been compromised and they would call their support team.
I know there are work arounds available for the underlying technology systems and various programming based solutions to allow for multiple sign-on, so it's not impossible for a short term fix.
Longterm: However with something like we're suggesting here with a complete/whole home and mobile phone integration suite, you're likely to see a longer-term development involving a security-first design, and not a hack/patch-work solution.
