Re: Problem with the echo
I am thinking if you haven't opened UDP ports 13000, 13001, 5060 and 5061 on your router AND windows firewall (Create an exception > Add Port)
If not, you should do so.
If not, you should do so.

Re: Problem with the echo
Kris:
I don't think echo has anything to do with the ports. In fact, it is due to the FXS Port Output/Input Gain:
To fix the echo for linksys VOIP devices, you must go to ADVANCED VIEW --> REGIONAL --> change the following settings:
1) FXS Port Output Gain: 2
2) FXS Port Input Gain: 1
Play around with these settings until you are comfortable with sound. My default values were -3 & -3, respectively and could NOT hear the other person on the phone.

Re: Problem with the echo
Yes, what I was saying is that if your router is port forwarded to 5060 and 5061 but windows firewall or a third party antivirus is blocking them, there is a mediocre force trying to block those ports which are being pushed through, but yes you are correct.

Re: Problem with the echo
Hi,
As a rule of thumb, the echo occurs at the other end from the one that hears it.
Say you can hear your voice as you speak. Why? Because at the other end, the sound of your voice is so loud in the speaker that the mic hears it and sends it back to you.
This happens especially when you're on speaker, or with the softphone when you're not using a headset and you use your system's speakers and an external mic.
So, what's to do? Try to lower the sound on your own phone, so the voice of the other speaker can't be heard by your mic you speak into.
Make sure your PA has the echo cancellation enabled, usually that's done by the voip provider at their end, also ask them to reduce the gain as discussed before.
Change your phone and see if that duplicates with a different one.
If you use the softphone, use a headset with microphone.
Refer to your phone adapter manufacturer for firmware upgrades.
Everything on your own risk.
