Receiving Wrong Number Calls

Hi,

I have been a FPL subscriber for few months now. We barely received any wrong number calls at all.
However, lately, we receive quite a few wrong number calls (usually they are asking for the wrong person).
We have also added our number on Do Not Call List.
I'm wondering what reason could be for wrong number calls.

Does it always seem to be the same person? Maybe they know someone who recently got a number that's very similar to yours. Do not call list will stop telemarketers (excluding those who are excluded from the list or that you do business with) but unfortunately can't stop people who may [chronically] dial the wrong numbers

I used to get a lot of calls from people trying to call Coca-Cola on my mobile. Apparently my number was the same, apart from my area code was 613 and not 631 which is what they thought they had dialled.

Are they all asking for the same person?

I think this was temporary. They were asking for different person each time.
I haven't received any wrong number in past two weeks.

May have been just a few random misdials, or someone entered a number into an online form wrong (entered yours by mistake) ... hard to tell ....

EG: my friend's Richmond, BC FPL # is 778-803, but he frequently gets calls for 604-803 (which is a cell #), some of which are "Text to Voicemail" calls from someone sending txts to the wrong area code ... :/
