ATA Registration Issues since September 18
This might be a coincidence, but ever since Fongo has stopped offering phone support for VoIP Unlock Key customer's I've been having nothing but problems. On the afternoon of September 18 my phone suddenly had no dial tone. I checked my ATA and the light for Phone 1 was off. I tried resetting all the settings but nothing worked. I borrowed my father's bran new and identical ATA and set it up with my settings. Everything worked. I figured my ATA was dead, so I bought new one (an SPA112 this time) on Sep. 21 and set it up. Worked fine, until about mid-day Sep. 22. Same issue as my old ATA. Tried playing around with router settings, contacted my ISP to make they weren't blocking ports, etc. Nothing would fix it. At some point I tried plugging in my old "broken" ATA. It actually registered and I had a dial tone. I made some calls with it put people are telling me it cuts in and out (like a cell phone getting bad reception). I tried connecting my SPA112 again and reset all the settings. It registers fine for now, but I'm still getting bad quality calls. I'm thinking it's possible that it's my router, but why is it that when I connect any ATA directly into the cable modem I can't get a connection? It's as if I need to be behind a router for it to work.

Re: ATA Registration Issues since September 18
Each time you change device plugged direct on pur cable modem, it's better to restart modem. Still, I've been told that ATA may really need a NAT, or router, to work. I didn't investigate further.
