Call Forwarding Number Taken????

Post by dlsijon »

Tried to use my cell phone number for call forwarding and got the message that the number already is use by some one else! As this isn't the case, as I never receive forwarded calls from anothe Dell user, what is the problem?

It might be in the system under maybe a FPL account, or one of the many other branded Fongo systems.

The best thing to do is call in and get a CSR to look into it. Someone might have added in your number by mistake, or even had your number before you and left it in place. A CSR should be able to sort it out for you.

611 from a DV phone should do it. Otherwise the other phone # on this page http://www.fongo.com/contacts.html

I will admit, they do seem to have hidden the phone number quite well now :?

Not hidden so much as just not made it very visible -- subtle difference.

As Mike stated in another thread, the FAQ section is relatively new and being reworked, I think they need to make the avenues of customer support stand out a little more for the newer customers! :-) IMHO ...

Tried calling Fongo support at 1-855-323-6646, got a message telling me to visit their website for technical assistance, as no agents were available...I think their customer service needs improvement to say the least!

Understatement -- remembering that, according to both Mike and Steve, this forum is an UNOFFICIAL support stream ONLY!! :/

Well the message only says to check the website, not the forum. So I guess the official help stops at the FAQs.

Personnaly I think the support needs to be officially extends to here, but I can also see the extra workload that would have.

Maybe an official place where people have to login with their account maybe?

As stated in another thread, most phone support had been removed. In lowering phone support, for this free service, Fongo is trying to use the savings to help with growth and improvement of services across the board. The FAQ's are becoming more and more expansive in exactly what they cover.

I must have not seen that thread -- could you point me to it, Mike?

If phone support has been cut back, then as Jake stated, methinks that the forum support would need to be "elevated" to OFFICIAL status, even if the FAQ's are vastly improved (they are quite lacking still... :( )

The "sense" of shifting resources from a labour intensive phone support is understandable, but at the same time, there has to be a viable timely alternative.
